Expanding school based nurseries with new funding and compliant procurement

From funding to flourishing: Let us help you prepare for September 2025.

Education is the foundation of every child’s life. It encourages personal growth and development from a young age. With the right environment and support, the young minds of today can thrive into incredible individuals—and that is exactly what the UK Government are committed to do.

What does this mean for primary schools?
In October 2024, a capital grant was accepted to contribute £15 million into the evolution and expansion of school-based nurseries across the UK, giving children equal opportunities. Allowing any  primary school that has a nursery operating out of their existing school to bid for up to £150,000 of the £15 million allocated funding, which will support up to 300 primary schools within the first stage of this plan, set to commence in September 2025.

Where can this funding be allocated?

While the potential for growth and improvement is vast, it's essential to acknowledge the considerations nursery schools will need to address during this process:

  • Staffing expansion: As more pupils will be accepted into nurseries from a young age (three to four), hiring more staff could be the first stage to consider. Ensuring each child receives proper care requires the right training for both new and current staff to boost early childhood education.
  • School improvements: Expanding classrooms or developing new facilities might be necessary. This funding offers opportunities for new projects such as new nursery buildings in preparation for the influx of new arrivals.
  • Equality and inclusion: Prioritising accessibility and inclusivity is crucial. Supporting special education needs and disability (SEND) students through their transition into nursery school and providing them with the appropriate support ensures equal opportunities for all children.

How could you benefit from this incredible opportunity?

These tasks can seem daunting, but developing and expanding school-based nurseries is a substantial undertaking that requires time and care. Our Education Management Systems (EMS) framework allows nurseries and primary schools to focus on what matters: the children.

EMS provide establishments with the tools for the collection and management of data, providing efficient reporting and a means to communicate effectively to all stakeholders with access anytime, anywhere.

We can help you stay within budget, compliant, safe, and protected by our terms and conditions. Our frameworks are free to access and can support you through:

  • Budget Planning
  • Special education needs (SEN)
  • Purchasing
  • Training and consultancy
  • Project management
  • Timetable management

However you decide to improve your primary school, we can help you move forward with the right framework and solutions.
